Login to Blackboard is now via the
CUNY Portal

1. Login with your portal username* and password**. (If you do not have a portal account see below)
   


2. After logging in, select John Jay Student or Faculty from the Checkin List.

Note: Due to a high number of new portal registrations, new registrants may see a delay in accessing the new registration screens. Students can click this link to access Blackboard directly without creating a portal id at this time.

Need a CUNY Portal account?

1. Go to the CUNY Portal page


2. Click Register Now! on the right side of the login screen.

You will need your social security number and date of birth to create your account.

After creating an account, you may have to login. Follow directions above to access Blackboard.

Having Trouble?

*Students and faculty who have forgotten their username or are having problems creating an account should call the John Jay Help Desk at 212-237-8200. You will be asked to provide specific information to confirm your affiliation with John Jay.

• If you are a student the Help Desk might refer you to the Registar's Office to ask them to check your e-sims account.
  
  

• If you are a faculty member the Help Desk might ask you to contact Human Resources to ask them to check your CUPS record.

**Forgot your Portal password?

• Go to the CUNY Portal (add link) and type your portal username. Then click the Forgot your password? link. You will receive an email with a new numeric password.
  
  
• To change your password to something you can remember easily:
  
  
  1. Login to the portal with your username and the numeric password
  2. On bottom right of screen in orange menu bar, click My Profile
  3. Click the Modify button, scroll down to the Change Password section at bottom of page.
  4. Enter the numeric password in the Old Password box, then enter your new password twice.
  5. Click the Save button.
