Mission Statement and Department Values
Mission Statement
The Mission of the Lincolnwood Police Department is to provide effective and
professional police service to the community. We recognize that our
authority is derived from the community, that we must be responsive to its
needs, and that we are accountable for our actions. Believing in the dignity
and worth of all people, we must protect the rights of all citizens and
treat our employees in an equitable manner. We believe that the police and
community share responsibility for maintaining law and order, and that our
relationship with the community and with each other must be based on mutual
respect.
Department Values
These are the values of the Lincolnwood Police Department. They serve as an
organizational pledge to the community. Each member is to act in such a
manner which is consistent with these values.
We believe in the principles embodied in our Constitution, and recognize the
authority of federal, state, and local laws.
We believe in the dignity and worth of all people.
We believe in a disciplined department, professional in both conduct and
appearance, is necessary to maintain public confidence.
We believe we must maintain the highest standards of integrity and honesty
in all our actions.
We believe we are accountable to the citizens of our community and to each
other.
We believe our authority must be exercised responsibly.
We believe in managing our resources in prudent and productive ways.
