Mission Statement
To work in partnership with the citizens of Prince George's County toward providing a safe environment and enhancing the quality of life consistent with the values of our community. To accomplish our mission we will adhere to the values of Professionalism, Integrity, Responsiveness, Sensitivity, Respect, and Openness.
The Prince George's County Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency in the County. In accordance with the Prince George's County Code (Section 18-135), the goals of the Department are to contribute to a high quality of life by maintaining a peaceful and orderly community, by protecting the lives and property of its citizens, by reducing the opportunity for individuals to commit criminals acts, and by efficiently and effectively investigating and apprehending persons suspected of committing criminal acts.
