MISSION STATEMENT

The Mission of the Long Beach Township Police Department is to Protect and Serve the members of our community to the highest degree. The members of the Long Beach Township Police recognize that police work is one of the more noble, selfless occupations in society. Making a difference in the quality of life is a responsibility that we proudly accept.

The Strategic Plan for accomplishing the Long Beach Township Police Department Mission must be grounded in core values, which need to be defended and preserved by the department, in the performance of its mission.

Those values are:
Obedience to the Constitution; Respect for the dignity of all those we protect; Unwavering personal and institutional integrity, fairness, compassion, service and justice.

Observance of these values is our guarantee of excellence in performing the Mission of the Long Beach Township Police Department. Obedience to the Constitution ensures that Constitutional guarantees are more important than the outcome of any single police action. Respect for the dignity of all we protect reminds us to wield law enforcement powers with restraint in a non-callous manner. Personal and institutional integrity reinforce each other, and is owed to the citizens in exchange for the trust and authority conferred upon us. Fairness and compassion ensure that we treat everyone with the highest regard for constitutional, civil and human rights. Our commitment to these principles, while serving our citizens, will ultimately lead to justice.
