Mission Statement

The Department of Human Resource Services supports UNCG's proud tradition of professional and public service, by providing support for all University departments in their personnel related decision making processes. In order to assist the University in attaining its mission, the Department of Human Resource Services primary focus is to attract, retain, and promote the most qualified individuals available in the identified geographic workforce. HRS has established departmental core values that support the mission of the Division of Business Affairs, which in turn upholds the core values and cornerstones established by the University Planning Council and approved by the Chancellor and Board of Trustees. These core values serves as guideposts for all actions of the department:

SERVE the human resource needs of the University community and the management needs of the administration by recognizing the uniqueness of each sub-system while assuring that they remain part of one large integrated system.

PROVIDE for enhancement of the creativity and/or well-being of each individual employee as the foundation for all human resource programs.

PROTECT the University's interests in the federal and state regulatory arenas through consistent application of policies and procedures as they relate to human resources in the University organization.
