Mission
The mission of the South Milwaukee Police Department is to provide a modern, flexible, full service department which is quality focused and responsive to the community and its needs. Central to this mission are a set of values that will guide our work and decisions and allow us to make a significant contribution to improving the quality of life in South Milwaukee. Equally significant are realistic goals which provide direction and purpose and establish a standard for measuring progress and success.

  8. To reduce and control serious crimes.
  9. To aid those who are in danger of physical harm and to assist those who cannot care for themselves.
  10. To protect constitutional guarantees.
  11. To facilitate the safe movement of people and vehicles.
  12. To resolve conflict.
  13. To identify problems for individuals, the police, or for the government.
  14. To create and maintain a feeling of security in the community.
