Formal Opinion No. 1995-142 From the State Bar of California Standing Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct, concerning the ethical restrictions on a private criminal defense attorney who engages in direct mail marketing of legal services to prospective clients charged with a crime, using information obtained from police department records.
Opinion 71-21 from the Florida Bar Online A city council member may represent a private client in a court other than the municipal court of the municipality for which he is councilman. Neither he nor his associates may put themselves in the position of contesting the evidence of the city police.
