Gale's Literary Index on the Web provides specific volume and page citations to various reference books on literature which are published by Gale.

This is a helpful source when you are looking for biographical information about authors and critical analysis of their writings. You should search for information by the name of the author or the name of a specific short story, novel, poem, etc.

The Lloyd Sealy Library at John Jay owns many of the titles that are indexed. See the list below for the titles owned and the call numbers. Nearly all the publications are shelved in the Reference Area on the 2nd floor of the Lloyd Sealy Library.

Note: Another database called Gale Literature Resource Center contains the full text for some of the items that are listed in this Index. You can search the Gale Literature Resource Center database directly by going to the Electronic Information Resources section of the library web page. However in some cases, the Gale Literature Resource Center does not include the complete article. Check the book version for the complete article.
