In accordance with federal and state law, the library offers reasonable
accommodation to the needs of patrons with disabilities. Such patrons should first register their special needs with the
College Office of Services for Students with Disabilities: 3128N, (212) 237-8031. They can then approach the
Library directly when the accommodations needed are modest and limited, for example retrieval of books, photocopying of
up to 20 pages (at the usual cost of 10 cents a page). Every effort will be made by the Library to meet such requests
expeditiously. However, requests will be met most efficiently if at least one day's advance notice is given. Contact the
Library reference desk at (212) 237-8246.
Request for a greater level of assistance should be directed to the Office
of Services for Students with Disabilities who will assign staff to assist disabled patrons with their Library
needs.
A description of the full range of services provided by this Office is given on
its home page. Further information on the nature
and level of services provided can be obtained from Farris Forsythe, Director of this Office at (212) 237-8122,
