Trial Transcripts of the County of New York
Court of General Sessions 1883-1927
The Lloyd Sealy Library of John Jay College of Criminal Justice has
425 microfilm reels of typewritten trial transcripts of the New York Court
of General Sessions located in the Special Collections Room. The transcripts
are the complete proceedings of some 2700 criminal trials from the 1800s
through the 1920s. These transcripts contain primary material important
not only in the study of the interaction between persons accused of crimes
and the criminal justice system but in the study of immigration patterns
and urban development during this period.
