A regional police academy that supplies training to thousands of law enforcement officers in the Tidewater area of Virginia relocated last month to leased quarters at a local university, and the move was hailed by officials as signaling a closer partnership between law enforcement and education. The Hampton Roads Regional Academy of Criminal Justice moved to a 28,000-square-foot facility in the Ferguson Hall Annex at Christopher Newport University in Newport News. “Our purpose is to be a leader in the United States in the education and training of law enforcement professionals,” said CNU president Paul Tribble. |
