Law Cases for an individual state:
Use the shortcut link . Select the state from "Select Sources" menu. Shortcut: individual states
Law Cases by specific citation:
Use the shortcut link. Enter your citation in "Citation Number" using exact punctuation and spacing. Examples are shown in "Citation Help" (410 U.S. 113). Shortcut: by citation Example
Supreme Court Cases:
Use the shortcut link. Select Supreme Court Cases from "Select Sources" menu. Search by either "Citation Number" or "Case Name". Shortcut: Supreme Court Cases
Articles from newspapers, including The New York Times:
Use the shortcut link. Select New York Times or some other paper from "Select Sources" menu. Click on the "Natural Language" button above the top search box. Enter your search terms and Specify the date.
If you want to use a more targeted approach, click on "Terms and Connectors" button above the top search box. Use the drop down menus to create a more targeted search within specific sections of the newspaper, as Headline, Lead paragraph, etc.
