Printing, scanning, and copying

Where can I print?

Printers in the Library are available in the Reference Area on the upper level and in the Reserve Room on the lower level.

Printers are also available in other computer labs and at EZprint mobile stations.

How do I print?

After sending a document to print, current John Jay students must enter their John Jay email ID and password at Print Release Stations before the document can be printed. How to release a print job at the Print Release Station (PDF) »

Three scanners are located in the Reserve Room downstairs, and four scanners are located upstairs near the Law Reference section (south wing). Email the resulting files, save them to your USB drive, and/or print them.

Make your scanned PDFs full-text searchable (using OCR) at the Accessibility computer, located near the scanners upstairs. Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat and select "Recognize Text » In this file."

Students may only use the scanners for limited periods of time when the Library is busy.

Scanning costs

Scanning is free! Note that individuals should never scan or copy a complete book, since that would be a copyright infringement. More information on what you can photocopy and scan »

Photocopiers are available in the back of Reserve Room downstairs and on the second floor.

Photocopying costs

15¢ per page single-sided, and 30¢ per page double-sided. Copiers accept coins only.
